GradSWE stands for the graduate student committee of the Society of Women Engineers (SWE) UCLA section.
GradSWE advocates for women graduate engineers and provides resources, tools, and opportunities for professional development and networking.
UCLA GradSWE’s mission is to support, inspire, and empower the current and future female engineering community to excel in all endeavors.
UCLA GradSWE will accomplish this by:
- Fostering a welcoming and inclusive community through education, advocacy, and respect for all individuals.
- Providing professional and personal development through workshops and networking.
- Encouraging members to become role models for future generations through leadership and mentorship opportunities.
- Serving as a resource for information pertaining to women engineers through events, social media, and online distributions.

The Society of Women Engineers (SWE) is a not-for-profit educational and service organization that empowers women to succeed and advance in the field of engineering, and to be recognized for their life-changing contributions as engineers and leaders. Founded in 1950, SWE is the driving force that establishes engineering as a highly desirable career for women through an exciting array of training and development programs, networking opportunities, scholarships, outreach and advocacy activities, and much more.
